A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI SPRINGS CANVASSING RETURNS OF THE MIAMI SPRINGS MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF APRIL 1, 2003, AND DECLARING RESULTS THEREOF
WHEREAS, a Municipal Election was held in and for the City of Miami Springs on April 1, 2003, and said election was duly and properly held in accordance with law;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI SPRINGS, FLORIDA:
Section 1: That returns of the Municipal Election held in and for the City of Miami Springs on April 1, 2003 have been canvassed by the City Council and the following facts are hereby determined:
(a) That Billy Bain has been elected to the office of City Council as Mayor;
(b) That Eric Elza has been elected to the office of City Council as Councilman
in Group I;
(c) That Jim Caudle, by virtue of the fact that Bob Calvert withdrew his candidacy, is declared to be duly and legally elected to serve as Councilman in Group II;
(d) That Rob Youngs has been elected as an unopposed candidate to the office of City Council in Group IV, pursuant to the provisions of Florida Statutes Section 101.151 (7);
Section 2: That Marcia Healey Fulton and Peter Pacheco have individually received the highest votes but less than the required majority of votes for election to Council in Group III.
Section 3: That a run-off election is required to determine the election of a Council member in Group III, which election will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2003.
Section 4: That a certified copy of the return sheets for the April 1, 2003 Miami Springs Municipal Election are attached to and made a part of this resolution.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Miami Springs, Florida, this 2nd day of April, 2003.
The motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was offered by Councilwoman Fulton, seconded by Councilman Caudle, and on roll call the following vote ensued:
