RESOLUTION NO. 2003-3214

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI SPRINGS AUTHORIZING AND APPROVING THE CITY'S EXECUTION OF ALL APPROPRIATE DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THE CITY TO SECURE AMENDMENT NO. 01 TO ITS LOCAL FLOOD MITIGATION STRATEGY PROJECT GRANT (AGREEMENT NO. C-13165) WITH THE SOUTH FLORIDA WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT; EFFECTIVE DATE.

WHEREAS, it is the established policy and intention of the City to secure all appropriate grants available to help defray the costs of City programs and projects; and;

WHEREAS, by the adoption of Resolution No. 2002-3185 on March 25, 2002, the City authorized and approved the execution of all appropriate documentation for the City to secure Local Flood Mitigation Strategy Project Grant Funds (Agreement No. C-13165) from the South Florida Water Management District; and,

WHEREAS, the parties wish to amend the aforesaid Agreement by the execution of Amendment No. 01 which extends the period of performance until March 26, 2005, increases the total revised funding to an amount not to exceed One Million One Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand ($1,125,000.00) Dollars, and amends the statement of the work to include the additional work provided in Exhibit "C-1" attached to the Agreement Amendment; and,

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interests of the City and its citizens to authorize and approve the acceptance and execution of Amendment No. 01 to Agreement No. C-13165 with the South Florida Water Management District:

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI SPRINGS, FLORIDA:

Section 1: That the City Council of the City of Miami Springs hereby authorizes and approves the acceptance of Amendment No. 01 to Agreement No. C-13165 with the South Florida Water Management District originally executed on March 27, 2002.

Section 2: That the City Council of the City of Miami Springs hereby authorizes City Manager, Maria V. Davis, and all other appropriate and required City officials, to execute Amendment No. 01 to Agreement No. C-13165 with the South Florida Water Management District originally executed on March 27, 2002.

Section 3: That the provisions of this resolution shall become effective immediately upon adoption.

             PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Miami Springs, Florida, this 24^th day of March, 2003.

The motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was offered by Councilwoman Fulton, seconded by Councilman Caudle, and on roll call the following vote ensued:
